KOISRA has successfully renewed its "Main Biz" certification for Business Management and Innovation from the Korean Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS) through July 2024.
For Main Biz certification, KOISRA met stringent requirements, demonstrating financial stability over the last five years, maintaining zero debt, ensuring a minimum number of employees, having a clean legal record without any lawsuits, and abstaining from industries like gambling, tobacco, or alcohol. Furthermore, KOISRA has leveraged technological tools to boost work efficiency.
Main Biz aims to recognize and develop SMEs exhibiting innovative management. The "Certification for Innovative Management SMEs" is given to firms that show a competitive edge or potential for growth via innovations in marketing, HR, organizational changes, and business model innovation. Out of 7.72 million SMEs, only about 23,000, or 0.3%, achieve this certification. These businesses are crucial to the Korean economy, contributing 15.8 percent, or 340.7 trillion won ($251.4 billion) to the total GDP and employing 860,000 individuals.
Having the Main Biz certificate provides KOISRA with advantages like preferred access to government contracts, advantageous bank financing, support in hiring specialized staff, and eligibility for various governmental support programs.
This certification underscores KOISRA's recognition by Korean governmental bodies as well-suited for numerous projects and programs, enhancing its role in aiding Korean startups and SMEs to penetrate global markets.
