KOISRA was pleased to attend the “Taste of Hungary” event hosted by the Embassy of Hungary in Seoul and the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade on Thursday, 18 December 2025. The networking and tasting event took place at the Embassy of Hungary in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, and brought together Korean importers and distributors interested in exploring Hungarian food and beverage products.

Discovering Hungary’s Food and Snack Offerings
During the event, guests were introduced to a broad selection of Hungarian food products, including:

  • Chocolate bars and confectionery
  • Cookies and pretzels
  • Candies and healthy snack bars
  • Jams, tea and other specialty items

These products showcased high European quality standards, appealing flavor profiles and competitive pricing, making Hungarian food particularly interesting for Korean importers, distributors and retailers seeking to enrich their portfolios with differentiated European offerings.

Alongside the food sampling, guests were also offered a selection of Hungarian white and red wines, served together with the various snacks and specialty products. While Hungarian wine is still not widely known in Korea, it has a long tradition dating back to the era of the Kingdom of Hungary and is recognized for its distinctive terroirs and grape varieties. The combination of wines and foods provided participants with a concise yet meaningful introduction to Hungary’s culinary heritage and its potential fit with Korean consumer tastes.

KOISRA’s Role in Supporting Hungarian Companies in Korea
Many of the products presented at “Taste of Hungary” are well suited for the Korean market and are seeking Korean import and distribution channels that value quality, differentiation and long-term partnerships.

As a consulting and business development firm based in Seoul, KOISRA, together with its representative in Hungary, supports Hungarian food and beverage companies in working closely with Korean partners, including:

  • Mapping and approaching potential Korean importers and distributors
  • Supporting B2B introductions and follow-up communication
  • Providing market entry insight, positioning and practical go-to-market guidance
  • Helping both sides navigate regulatory, logistical and cultural aspects of cooperation

KOISRA looks forward to helping more Hungarian food and beverage brands take their first steps into Korea and to building long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships between Hungarian producers and Korean companies.
