KOISRA was enlisted by a US-based manufacturer of industrial engines and power systems to enhance their existing relationships with Korean suppliers and manufacturers. The client has a longstanding partnership with various Korean suppliers and manufacturers and is globally recognized, including in South Korea.
TARGET – MANUFACTURER RELATIONS
The primary aim was to refine the client's current relationships with Korean suppliers and manufacturers, safeguard the client's interests, oversee product supply shipments, and identify new manufacturers meeting the client's production standards.
CHALLENGE – COMMUNICATION AND PRODUCTION CONSTRAINTS
Despite being a well-known brand in Korea and having a history with Korean suppliers and manufacturers, communication had deteriorated over the years, resulting in production delays and shipment issues to the client's warehouse in the USA. Some local manufacturers faced financial instability and production constraints. A key manufacturer utilized subcontractors for final product manufacturing, posing challenges in direct communication.
WORK PROCEDURE – SITE MEETINGS AND COMMUNICATION SCREENING
KOISRA was officially appointed as the client's representative in Korea for more effective support. Initially, KOISRA's team thoroughly studied the client's background and reviewed prior written communications with Korean suppliers and manufacturers.
Conducting due diligence, KOISRA assessed the financial status and other pertinent factors of manufacturers and suppliers. Subsequently, face-to-face meetings were arranged with each manufacturer and supplier to address current issues, inspect factories, interview relevant employees, and assess the client's production status.
KOISRA integrated into the client's daily email communication with manufacturers and suppliers, ensuring transparency and assistance. Additionally, KOISRA participated in weekly conference calls between the client and manufacturers as needed.
RESULT – OPERATIONS BACK TO NORMAL
Throughout the service period, KOISRA identified factors causing communication problems and supply delays, documenting and discussing these issues with the client. Offering ongoing daily support, KOISRA resolved these issues, establishing robust communication channels for seamless orders without delays.
Furthermore, direct supplier relationships were established with several subcontractor manufacturers to serve as backups in potential future issues.
